Ben practices in the areas of estate planning and probate. He represents individuals on estate planning, estate administration, asset protection, taxation, and related issues. Ben was raised in Dallas. He attended culinary school at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park , New York.
After working as a professional chef, he returned to the University of Texas at Austin where he received a bachelor's degree in economics in 1990. Ben attended law school at Southern Methodist University where he received a joint degree in law (J.D.) and economics (M.A.). He was admitted to practice law in Texas in 1996.
